TED – Educational Mobile Apps
TED is an unbiased, nonprofit global community, which exclusively devoted to spreading ideas, especially in Technology, Entertainment, and Design in the form of short and powerful talks (18 minutes or less) from the great entrepreneurs of the world. TED was born in 1984 by the observation of Richard Saul Wurman who found the powerful convergence among these three fields, which are completing the world from science to Business to global issues. Currently, in more than 100 languages, TED people are welcoming the enthusiastic ones from every discipline and culture who seek the wisdom of the world. They trust in the power of passionate ideas as impartial and as not restricted, to change attitudes or ideologies, lives or culture and, ultimately, the world itself.
On TED.com, people can accumulate free knowledge from the world’s most inspired thinkers about anything under and above the sun. Every brain behind it aims to provide a platform for thinkers, visionaries, and teachers so that people around the globe can get a clear picture of the social issues faced by the world, and feed a curiosity to create a bright future.
And of course, it never promotes any kind of ‘pseudo’ information since it has peer-reviewed research panel with inquiry set- up for viewers. According to TED, they are elitist when to choose the right speaker for a free talk with a curated audience from diverse backgrounds as balanced. But they devoting time and budget to seeking out and supporting attendees who couldn’t afford to come on their own, but who’ll be great contributors. And also they gift money and time for bringing TED Talks to people who lack access to broadband or have other accessibility issues since they want the talks are available for free to anyone in the world.
Some of the TED speakers have included former U.S. President Bill Clinton, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, legal expert Bryan Stevenson, primatologist Jane Goodall, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Nigerian finance minister Ngozi Okonjo, etc. Collectively, TED speakers have won every major prize awarded for excellence, including the Nobel, Pulitzer, Oscar, Grammy, Emmy, Tony and MacArthur.
And apart from talking, they invite individuals or organizations either to volunteer or to translate or to host their events in the worldwide. Moreover, they conduct annual TED Conferences, which are Talk about the new projects and innovations in every field and the projects which are sparked by the TED Prize from the global TEDx community to the TED-Ed lesson series.Along with it, they have special events like TED Global, Ted Women, TED youth, TED India, etc.
In the past, Sapling supported projects could use these tools to create sustainable change in areas such as global public health, poverty alleviation, and biodiversity. Still, they are tuned to welcome anyone from everyone in the World.
